As you may have noticed, this blog is in hiatus while I work on other things… sorry for the lack of updates!
I've just released version 0.4 of my Amazon S3 for WordPress plugin. This release fixes a bug with how the plugin handles SSL (https) URLs, and also adds a new “Copy Files to S3” feature that lets you bulk-upload your existing media library files to S3 in one click. Download and full release notes can be found on the Toolkit page.
I've released version 0.7 of the Flickr Photo Album plugin for WordPress. This release adds support for WordPress 2.7’s new media uploader, and fixes a few compatibility issues. Grab the download on the Toolkit page.
I've added a new plugin to the Toolkit page — Facebook Photos. This plugin for WordPress automatically pulls in photos you upload to Facebook and shows them in a convenient “Photos” tab in the admin post screen, so you can easily insert them into your blog posts with a single click.
I've published my first plugin on the WordPress plugin repository — Amazon S3 for WordPress. It lets you easily offload your WordPress media uploads to Amazon’s S3 content delivery network. This is especially handy if you run a podcast or write posts with a lot of images, since it saves bandwidth on your web host and speeds up file delivery for your readers. Check out the Toolkit page for download and installation details.
Added a new plugin to the Toolkit: Simple Spam Filter. It’s a lightweight anti-spam plugin that acts as a “pre-filter” alongside Akismet by rejecting the most obvious comment spam based on keyword rules and link counts. Really useful for high-traffic WordPress blogs. Download on the Toolkit page.
