Updated: Flickr Photo Album (0.96)
9 CommentsA slightly larger than normal update this time around. New features developed for this release of the Flickr Photo Album plugin for WordPress:
- Support for WordPress shortcodes. This means you can easily add all your photos from an album with just a short snippet of text. Typing [flickr album=1234567] into a blog post will pull in photos from your album that has id of “1234567″.
- Lightbox style popup overlay support. See here for a demo of different display libraries in action. Then head over to the plugin download page for installation notes.
- Improved cache management. Searching for photos should now bring up the most recently uploaded photos quicker.
- General bug fixes and other improvements. Changelog here.
- Upgrading Note: the plugin’s directory structure has been reorganized. Everything is now in the “tantan-flickr” directory. Just make sure to also upload the “silaspartners” directory (which contains some backwards compatibility links) to ensure stuff doesn’t break.
Update: Errr… looks like the Google download link is giving errors. Please use the download mirror if you can’t download it from the Google project.

This looks to be the best release yet; you have obviously spending some time with this plugin. IMHO, the snippet integration and the various display libraries now included make this THE choice for photo display integration into any WP site. All I can say is THANKS!!!
Nice update. One question though, will you be making this available through the Wordpress repository - so we can have one-click upgrady goodness?
Looking forward to giving this a go! So glad the modal options have made it in! Great job, as always
@joshnunn, i’m thinking about moving towards that…. so, maybe
Thanks Joe. Do you know if this version will work with WPMU?
Are there specific instructions/requirements to make it work?
Thanks for your great plugins,
Bike
The best plugin for wordpress! .96 fixes the problem of not being able to switch pages of your flickr gallery in .95. Tiny little problems with the new version: In firefox 3 beta5 , the selected image will open in the center window, but only the closebox is available to select. So no image is posted in blog post.
In Vista IE7 posting works great, but box to select “small, medium etc” draws -under- the selected image. Even with these small problems, this is still an awesome plugin. Thank You!
Michael, I am having trouble getting the plugin to see my sets. for the life of me I cannot get “album” created at flickr, but I have lots of sets.
see flickr user halfwaytoconcord
In the write menu I click on the plugin icon, a window comes up that can show photostream (where I could do one at a time i suppose) and ALBUM. When I click on ALBUM my sets show up, When I click on the top photo of a set, that is all that I see in the post preview and not the other pictures in the set.
what am I doing wrong?
thanks for any help.

i love this plug-in! i had the animation feature working in .95 but since the update it has stopped working
just thought i would let you know, not sure if others are having the same problem or not and i know that it was a buggy feature to begin with but it looked so nice on my main page. keep up the great work.
love this plug in except that when drilling down to a picture sometimes it just throws back to the main page of my site. any ideas?
thanks!
