TanTanNoodles 2.0
2 CommentsI decided that the somewhat Christmas-y colors are getting kinda old, so I made a couple updates. Also the HTML and CSS were a huge mess and basically needed some major rewrite to get things back in order. It’s not really a dramatic change on the front end, but the code is much cleaner now, and I think the realignment looks much nicer
Let me know what you think!
Some highlights:
- New colors. Links are now blue (the universal hyperlink color?) and a burnt orange color used for accents.
- Flexible and fluid layout. The site uses a stretchy layout (up to a maximum of 1024 pixels wide). However, if your browser is not wide enough, then the sidebar layout will try to adjust to prevent horizontal scrolling. If the width is really narrow (less than 800 pixels), then the sidebar wrap down below the main content to make for more room.
- Cleaner homepage. The homepage now highlights some of the newer content more prominently below the main post.
- Updated sidebar. Two photos are featured from my Flickr photo stream, and the archives are moved into the this area as well.
I get requests now and then from people wanting to use the TanTan theme, so feel free to download it for your own blog if you’re interested. Obviously you should probably create your own header, and the original Photoshop file is provided for your convenience. Instructions for how to get the theme are provided here >

so generous! :o) i like the cheesy photos. (hi victoria. :o)
cheesy huh ;p
i’ll have to say, my crowning achievement this time around (last time was the drop shadows) would be the fading sidebar gradient
