I wonder if God ever has these types of moments when He asks himself the same question about us. =P
Love is a funny thing as some will give it out like candy on Halloween and then some guard it like they have none to give. Either way, whether the target is a family member, a friend or an SO to love requires patience, friendship, compromise and especially prayer.
Only with the persistent love of God–the love that “always hopes” and “always protects”–even when all circumstances lead us to wonder how to hope. I don’t think there is any other way.
You love them by serving them. Wash their feet as the Lord did and turn the other cheek if hurt. When asked for your shirt, give them your coat as well. Satan wants us to be selfish and to demand our rights, but the Lord asks us to give up everything to even total strangers. “faith, hope and Love…”
