Hello Joe, Cool Blog!
Global Warming is a problem that belongs to everyone because We all are contributing in some way.
I agree with you. Al gore campaign should be more credible, Of course He is using all his available resources to promote his campaign and obviously Himself!
But the fact is that We all need at least try to contribute with something to prevent the global warming. It's not difficult. Plant a Tree, use your bicycle, do not waste or pollute the water, pass the word, etc.
As You can see these little efforts will help in some way to try to stop or relief this present and future problem.

Greetings from Mexico.

You make a great point that I TOTALLY agree with. I wish more people had that type of attitude towards the environment. I belong to National Geographic magazine subscriptions and they are always printing stories of this and that type of environmental disaster. It's scary, but true.

I do absolutely agree! I'm happy about every person bringing this massive problem to the medias attention. But it's nearly impossible to get media attention without a lifestyle like Gore's, jetting to book signing sessions and presentations of his documentation around the world. It's indeed a form of not-putting-your-money-where-your-mouth-is and that gives a huge contact surface for critics. I think it's OK in such special cases, but it's not OK to have several Hummers standing in the garage as Schwarzenegger has and at the same time promoting renewables, hybrids and energy saving. He should definitely change to make is message more credible!

yes. regardless of people's stances regarding global warming, we can't ignore the fact that north americans consume our earth's resources in a rebukable manner. we act like our lifestyles have no consequence. most of our practices are not sustainable, and we have chosen a life of convenience and immediate gratification at the expense of God's creation (clean air and water, food resources, future descendants...)

even if an inconvenient truth involves some shady science, at least al gore is using his celebrity to bring people to examine the way they live and use this earth, and take steps to be more environmentally responsible. well, hopefully that's what viewers are doing anyway...

for anyone interested, there's a well-written essay on the topic from a christian perspective by alan durning titled "how much is enough?" in simpler living compassionate life.
