Woot! I just got myself a Nintendo Wii from Walmart.com. It’s actually pretty fun, in an entirely different way compared to the XBox or Playstation. I think Nintendo has done a great job in making video games interesting and fun even for people that wouldn’t normally play them.

The pack-in Wii Sports pack-in game is a pretty fun tech demo of what the Nintendo Wii can do. And if you don’t want to look ridiculous while playing it, swinging the Wii-mote around like a real life racket, bat, or club is not actually necessary. You can play most games by just flicking the Wii-mote around with your wrist, but then… that’s just kinda lame. In addition to playing games, the Wii is also capable of surfing the web with the Opera web browser you can download. Surprisingly, it works quite well, text renders quite nicely and even Flash video works (read: YouTube).
