Ooo… Shiney New Apples

appleshowtime.jpg Looks like I wasn’t too far off when I tried to predict what new wonderful gadgets Apple would have us buy this Christmas. The most interesting bit was when they previewed their set-top box, code-named iTV. This seems to be a step down from a full fledged computer, but also a step up from just a “simple” streaming device (like the Airport Express). They also rev’d up all their iPods, upgraded iTunes, and introduced the iTunes Movie Store. So rather than saying what everybody else is saying, here’s Engadget’s excellent coverage of what went down today: the new iPod (brighter screens, bigger capacity), new iPod nanos (suspiciously like the old iPod minis), new iPod shuffle (wow, it’s tiny!), iTunes movie store (Disney only at the moment), and the iTV streaming media device. And you can watch the whole show here at Apple.com.

The iPod shuffle is really more like an iPod nano…

Just in time since my old G3 15GB iPod just bit the dust =( I like how they said the 30GB iPods would be $250. Which is about the same cost to go through their service replacement program if you’re not under their warrenty. =P
