Chinese Community Church

masthead.jpg So today marks the last Sunday worship for the Chinese Community Church of Washington DC at 900 Massachusetts Ave, Mount Vernon Place. Next week we start worship in our new building, located at 500 I Street NW. We had a nice closing thanksgiving ceremony where everybody took a small item from the sanctuary and walked it over to the new church building for a commissioning ceremony. There’s still lots of renovations going on in the new building, so it might get a little difficult in the short term, but nonetheless, it will be exciting and challenging times up ahead. Here’s some thoughts from someone who’s been there a little longer than I have.

The set I did today for today’s last service at the old building was 6 songs, so it was kind of a long set, but it was a great time of worship. There were even a couple of people in the back row jumping up and down, cool!

- Hear Our Praises
- Love the Lord
- Holy is the Lord
- How Great is Our God
- Joyous Light
- Doxology

Also, today I flipped the switch and made the new web site live :). Here’s an announcement with some info on what’s new in the web site. The company where I work did the design, and I took that and put it all together. For those interested, the web site’s underlying framework is based on WordPress, but customized with modules specifically for churches and ministry organizations. This customized package is called SPress and if you’re interested in using it, give us a call </endplug>.

that is one cool design - altough it might have been a cooler site with nav that read vertically. just saying.

Actually, the nav was originally vertical, but was changed to horizontal because some people thought vertical text was too difficult to read. ;) but i think the drop out menus work better with horizontal menus.
