Game 7 and Macs

Woot! Edmonton’s made it into game 7 of the Stanley Cup Playoff’s, and it’s been an exciting matchup so far. This series reminds of when the Canucks also made the finals back in 1994 and were down 3 games to 1 in the series against the Rangers. And just like Edmonton now, they came back and forced a thrilling game 7… unfortunately, they lost (it was really close tho). But, if Edmonton plays game 7 on Monday like they played game 6, the Stanley Cup will be theirs for sure. They completely dominated Carolina. It is a little bittersweet tho, since Edmonton essentially bumped Vancouver out of the playoffs this season. Nonetheless, I hope they win
The pic in this post is of Joey Moss, who may very well be the most energetic and enthusiastic national anthem singer I’ve ever seen.
Speaking of national anthems (which is to say, not at all), I have one nit pick with the ads Apple is running right now. Apple claims that Macs have a great “Out of the Box” experience, and this is true. Except when it comes to Quicktime, which Apple intentionally cripples and will nag you for a dumb $30 upgrade every so often. How is it that Apple can sell you a several thousand dollar computer which does almost everything “out of the box” (all new Macs have iLife bundled), but then will ask you to pay up if you want a feature like full screen video for Quicktime movies. This kind of nickel-and-diming needs to stop. Other than that, I think the new ads a great.
…and happy fathers day and birthday ![]()
