Easter Weekend in Vancouver

So I’m back in VanBC for Easter weekend, for my cousin’s wedding. Looking forward to haning out with friends and family, and perhaps most of all, eating good food :)

Ever get the feeling you forgot something, but can’t quite remember exactly what? Normally when I fly to Canada I’m issued electronic tickets, which means I just have to show my ID at the checkin counter to get my boarding pass. But this time, my flight required paper tickets. And uh yeah… I definitely forgot to bring them with me when I left for the airport. It was only when I was already at the airport and tried to use one of the self checkin kiosks that I realized my folly because it wouldn’t print my boarding pass. And by that time, there was only 40 mins left before the flight was scheduled to leave. Not good.

So… I had to rush back to my apartment, pick up my tickets, go back to the airport, checkin, go through security and get to the gate in that timeframe. Fortunately, I live pretty close to the airport and was able to catch a taxi pretty quick to go retrieve my tickets. And when I finally got checked in, there was a pretty long line to get through security, which ment I had to jump to the front queue if I wanted to make my flight… and yeah, a security guard yelled at me for trying to do that :-/ But thankfully the people in line were gracious enough to let me cut in to the front and go first. In the end, I was able to get to the gate with about 5 mins to spare.

So moral of the story, if you’re issued paper tickets, try not to forget them. Kind of important. And of course, I brought my (only) suit for the wedding ceremony, but I forgot to bring a dress shirt.
