Persecution Against Hopegivers
No CommentsJust a little over 3 months ago, I mentioned that the new web site for Hopegivers was launched. They are a non-profit organization whose primary mission is to help orphaned, sick, and helpless children in India. It’s hard to come up with a more nobler goal. Unfortunately, they have recently been under pretty severe persecution from Hindu radicals, despite of all the good work that they do (or perhaps… because of it). And it’s all come to a point with the dubious arrest of Dr Samuel Thomas, the president of Hopegivers International, in the Indian state of Rajasthan just this past week.
I’ve only worked briefly with Hopegivers (just did some HTML stuff for their web site really), and never really had direct contact with Dr Thomas, but from what I can tell, he has a huge heart for the people of India an even bigger one for the children of India. Living in America, it’s hard to know exactly what is going on over there, but I do know it is getting serious (like attacking and holding an orphanage under seige serious). Keep Dr Thomas and the rest of the Hopegivers organization in your prayers, and pray for the peaceful resolution of this situation.
