In a mere 2 days, Microsoft’s newest game console, the XBox 360, goes on sale. And all I’ve got to say is, well.. meh. Don’t get me wrong, I think Microsoft’s XBox 360 is “better” when compared to the Sony Playstation 3. Given their vast experience with software development, I think Microsoft has laid out a fantastic infrastructure for the XBox 360 and has a stronger software architecture for developers. This is especially true when it comes to online game play. But at this point in time, the difference between the XBox (old) and XBox 360 (new) is exactly like watching a TV show in standard definition verses watching it in high definition. Sure, high definition gives you a much better and prettier picture, but the plot (ie gameplay) is all the same. Is Madden NFL 06 on the new XBox 360 really that much better than Madden NFL 06 on the 5 year old XBox? I’m guessing not really. But this doesn’t mean I’m not going to buy it I’ll probably pick up a new XBox 360 eventually if for no other reason other than the fact that the DVD drive on my current XBox is starting to flake out and not read DVD discs properly.

And I just came back from a 70th anniversary dinner for the Chinese Community Church I’m attending. Church started way back in 1935, pretty neat history. Hopefully in the very near future, a new web site will be launched. As for the dinner, it was a chinese style banquet. So if you’ve ever been to one, you know what I mean when I say “a lot”. Crab, jumbo shrimp, chicken, duck, fish, jellyfish, veggies… and few other dishes. It was great. Altogether it was 11 courses. Sadly, I did not take any pictures.
