Falling backwards
No CommentsWhy can’t we fall forwards and spring backwards? So because of the daylight savings time adjustment, I forgot to fall backwards today, which meant I got to church an hour early. Normally, this shouldn’t be too much of an issue, but I already had to get to church extra early today so I could setup and run through music before worship. So that meant I got to church really really early, instead of getting an extra hour of sleep. And all the doors were locked since the church isn’t usually open that early. Ugh… alarm clocks should just know when to adjust for daylight savings automatically, especially digital clocks.
Or better yet, just get rid of the whole darn bi-annual time adjusting. I mean, it works for Saskatchewan. Which I know isn’t really saying much, but like whatever. I also love how Canada’s domestic policies and whatnot are so easily manipulated changed by the USA government.
I imagine a conversation would go something like this, with apologies to Office Space…
USA: Hello Canada. What’s happening? We need to talk about daylight savings.
Canada: Yeah. Daylight savings. I know, I know. Uh, Mexico talked to me about it.
USA: Yeah. Uh, did you get that memo?
Canada: Yeah. I got the memo. And I understand the policy. The problem is, I just forgot this one time. And I’ve already taken care of it so it’s not even a problem anymore.
USA: Yeah. It’s just that we’re implementing the new daylight savings for the entire North American continent. So if you could just remember to tell your provinces about it, that’d be great. All right!
