Ottawa and Montreal

Went to visit Terence up in Ottawa for the weekend, and then we rented a SUV and drove over to Montreal for a day trip. All round lots of fun, and met a bunch of cool peeps from Ottawa. Saw the Canadian Parliament building, hiked up Mount Royal in Montreal, and walked around Old Montreal (very nice). Even played some roller hockey after church on sunday, even tho I didnt have any rollerblades. Here are some select pics, more on my flickr gallery.

On another note…. getting back to WashDC was quite an ordeal, I won’t get into too much details but here are some highlights: alarm clock not working, sleeping at airports, ridiculous baggage “security” precautions (which involved some yelling from my fellow passengers), mechanical delays, flight cancellations / rebookings, and finally lost bags. Airport security has got to be one of the biggest jokes, and this trip has proved it… I mean, they’re preventing children from boarding planes, because their names appear on a list which says they might be terrorists or something. Where did the common sense go? Are people nowadays so afraid of taking some responsibility that they will blindly hide behind rigid rules even if those rules make absolutely no sense in a given situation?
